Digital marketing specialist cover letter
Specialist letters fail when they praise the brand and never name a channel. Open on their channel and one campaign or page you already ran for a similar audience.
Resume tips for a digital marketing specialist
How to open
Name paid search, paid social, email, or the landing page, matching the posting. Then your closest example, including what you personally built. Do not promise a return.
Hands on the account
Say whether you wrote the ads and changed the bids or the send, or whether you only pulled the report. The posting usually wants one of those.
The audience
A consumer signup and a narrow professional list are different. Use the closer one, or say they differ.
A decision you made
Pausing a term, changing a page, or cutting a send is a decision. A dashboard you looked at is not.
An example paragraph
This is an example to adapt, not a letter from a real applicant. Use it only where every detail is true for you.
You want paid search and a landing page for a product signup. I built both for a launch, inside a budget a manager set, and paused terms that brought visits without signups.
What to skip
Skip a forecast of their results, a channel you have not run, and a list of networks with no campaign behind them. Skip compliments about their latest ad unless you are making a specific point.
Questions
- Should I mention budget size?
- Only if you can say it was the budget you operated and you are allowed to share it. The channel and the decision matter either way.
- What if a manager owned the strategy?
- Say you executed inside their plan. That is a specialist letter. Do not rewrite yourself as the head of marketing.
