Recruiter cover letter

Recruiter letters should name the role family and the source. Energy is not a method. If you have not hired their kind of role, say what you have hired instead of pretending the desk is the same.

Resume tips for a recruiter

How to open

State in-house or agency and the roles. Say sourced or inbound. Mention who made the hiring decision if it was not you.

One req type

Describe one search you know well. The steps you ran matter more than a total you cannot define.

The manager relationship

A sentence on how you took the requirement is useful. Inventing a perfect intake meeting is not.

No candidate gossip

Do not name candidates or repeat why someone declined in a way that exposes them.

An example paragraph

This is an example to adapt, not a letter from a real applicant. Use it only where every detail is true for you.

You are hiring an in-house recruiter for clinic roles. I sourced nurses and medical assistants, ran the first screen, and worked with the clinic manager who owned the offer.

What to skip

Skip a rant about the talent market, candidate names, and any fill statistic you would not calculate the same way twice. Skip role families you do not know.

Questions

Should I include a metrics dashboard?
Only if the numbers are yours and you can define them. The role family and the source are the required part.
What if I am an agency recruiter applying in-house?
Say so. The letter is a good place to note that the client on an agency desk was an outside company, and that you understand the difference.
