IT support specialist resume tips
An IT support resume should say which desk you sat on and which problems you could finish. Password and account access, a broken mail client, imaging a laptop, and a site-down call are different queues. Name the systems you could change yourself and the ones you had to hand to a specialist.

What to put first
Say who you supported: an office, a clinic, a school, a warehouse floor, or remote staff. Then the channel: walk-up, phone, chat, or a ticket queue. Put the problems that match the posting first.
What you could close
List the fixes you were trusted to finish: account unlocks, a mail profile, a printer, a VPN, a replaced machine. If you only logged and escalated, say that. Escalation with a clear note is a skill when it is the job.
The directory and the devices
Name the account directory, the device manager, or the ticket tool if you used them. Do not add a cloud suite because the posting named it. A different tool, honestly named, is fine.
The boundary with engineering
A desk that images laptops is not the team that runs the production cluster. Do not borrow that scope. If you wrote a small script to speed a reset, you can say so without calling yourself the platform owner.
An example line
Adapt this only where it is true for you. It is a shape for a bullet, not a claim that a particular person did this work.
Closed walk-up tickets for an office: unlocked accounts in the company directory, rebuilt mail profiles, and imaged replacement laptops from the standard build.
What to leave off
Leave off platforms you have not administered, a security incident you only heard about, and slang that hides the task. Leave off "people person" in place of the queue you actually ran.
Questions
- Should I list every application I have installed?
- List the ones you supported often enough to fix without a script in front of you. A one-time install is a weak skills line.
- What if I worked a help desk and want a systems role?
- Show the desk honestly and add only the systems tasks you already did. Do not retitle the desk as engineering.
