Flight attendant cover letter
Flight attendant letters should lead with the operation and the safety duty. A love of travel is not a qualification. The role you held and the checks you were assigned are the letter.
Resume tips for a flight attendant
How to open
Name their kind of operation and your closest role. State that you are writing about work you were qualified for. If you have not held a cabin job, do not imply that you have. Say the customer-service work that is real and that the certificate would be new.
Safety before service
One assigned duty, such as the demo or the door check, belongs before the beverage cart.
Reserve and the line
If you sat reserve, say so. It is a different life from a set line, and airlines know that.
No fleet trivia
Do not list aircraft you liked. If they require a language, claim it only if you can work a cabin in it.
An example paragraph
This is an example to adapt, not a letter from a real applicant. Use it only where every detail is true for you.
I am applying for a line role on a scheduled operation. I have held that role on narrow-body turns, stayed current in recurrent training, and ran the safety demo and the door checks I was assigned.
What to skip
Skip a base you do not want and then pretend otherwise, an aircraft you were not trained on, and any passenger story. Skip a claim about seniority you do not have.
Questions
- Should I explain a gap in flying?
- A plain sentence is enough if the dates show a gap. Do not fill it with unrelated detail or with travel that was not work.
- What if I am changing airlines?
- Say the operation you know. Do not claim their manual or their fleet. They will train what is theirs. You should not write it as experience yet.
