Real estate agent cover letter
Real estate letters to a broker should name the market and the side. Praise for the city is not a file. The license and the steps you have already run are the letter.
Resume tips for a real estate agent
How to open
State the license and the market. Say buyers, sellers, or rentals. If you are new, say so and name the part of the file you have touched. Do not borrow a team's closings.
One file shape
Showings and offers, or a listing appointment and a checklist, are enough. Mention broker review if that was required.
The brokerage fit
If you are writing to join a brokerage, say what you want from the desk: leads, training, or a split you have actually read. Do not invent their terms.
No volume promise
Do not tell them how many deals you will close. You cannot know their market from a letter.
An example paragraph
This is an example to adapt, not a letter from a real applicant. Use it only where every detail is true for you.
I am a licensed agent looking to work buyer files in this metro. I have run showings, written offers a broker reviewed, and kept inspection deadlines on condo purchases.
What to skip
Skip a closing you did not handle, an income claim, and neighborhood gossip. Skip any wording that states a preference about who you will serve. That is not a selling point. It is a violation.
Questions
- Should I attach a production report?
- Only if they ask and the report is yours. A letter can stand on the license and the side.
- What if I am switching from rentals to sales?
- Say so. The license may be the same. The file is not, and you should not write rental placements as sale closings.
