Real estate agent resume tips

A real estate agent resume is a license, a market, and the side of the deal you worked. Buyers, sellers, and rentals are different books. A team lead's sales are not yours unless you represented the client. Write the license the way the state writes it, and only if it is current.

What to put first

Put the license and the state near your name, plus any broker relationship the rules require you to show. Then the market and the side: buyers, listings, or rentals. The first bullets should be work you did on a file, not a slogan about neighborhoods you love.

The file

Name the steps you actually ran: consult, pricing conversation with your broker, showings, offers, inspections, or the closing checklist. "Helped clients" hides which steps were yours and which a coordinator or a broker owned.

The market, without a fantasy

Name the area and the property type you have worked: condos, houses, small multifamily, or land. Do not invent a sales rank or a volume figure. If you lack a figure you can explain, the side and the steps are enough.

The team

If you were on a team, say what you did versus what the lead or the coordinator did. A showing assistant is not the listing agent. Write the true seat.

An example line

Adapt this only where it is true for you. It is a shape for a bullet, not a claim that a particular person did this work.

Licensed agent in one metro area: represented buyers of condos, ran showings, wrote offers my broker reviewed, and kept the inspection deadlines on the checklist.

What to leave off

Leave off a license that is not active, a sale you did not represent, and any income claim. Leave off fair-housing language used as decoration. Follow the rule in the work, and do not advertise a preference the law forbids you to state.

Questions

Should I include a sales total?
Only if you can explain the period, the side you represented, and that you are allowed to share it. The license and the steps are required either way.
What if I am newly licensed?
Say that. List the transactions you have been on and your role in each. Do not imply a book you do not have.
