How to target jobs in Orlando
Florida
Orlando is known for theme parks, and the parks employ both guest-facing teams and corporate and technical staff. Hospitals and a cluster of training employers hire people who never work a park. Affection for the parks is not a credential in any of these lanes.
This page does not estimate salaries or how many jobs are open. Those figures go stale, and there is no source for them here.
Parks and hotels
Disney, Universal, and the hotels around them hire operations, culinary, marketing, and technical people. Read whether the role faces guests, supports a property, or sits on a project. Credits belong on the resume only when they are yours. Nights and weekends are often the job, not a detail to negotiate later.
Hospitals
AdventHealth and Orlando Health hire clinicians and administrators. A park schedule and a clinical schedule should not be blurred into one service paragraph. Florida licensure is the credential they look up. Use the unit and the setting you know.
Training and the university
Defense and training employers, including Lockheed Martin, and the University of Central Florida hire engineers, instructors, and staff. Clearance lines mean what they say. A guest-facing resume will not pass for that work, and a campus staff job is not a faculty job.
The kinds of employers
Park and hotel operators, health systems, training and defense employers, the university, and the firms that build and supply the visitor economy. The park corridor, downtown, and the medical and university area to the southeast are different drives.
How to aim an application
Pick guest-facing work, clinical work, or technical and training work, and keep the resumes separate. Name the part of the region you will drive. If a posting is seasonal or tied to a show schedule, believe that line.
What to have ready
For parks, be clear about the schedule and the kind of property. For hospitals, show the Florida credential. For cleared technical roles, do not embellish access you do not have. A one-page resume still has to stand alone if a reviewer never opens a portfolio.

Questions
- Do I need park experience to work in Orlando?
- Only for jobs in that industry. Hospitals, the university, and training employers hire people with no park background.
- Does a theme-park company only hire guest-facing roles?
- No. Those companies also hire engineers, accountants, cooks, and coordinators. Apply to the function you have done.
